The King George Hospital, London, was originally opened in 1912. Since then, it has undergone many expansions, including the Decontamination Unit in 2024, for which ARC Structures designed and installed a covered walkway, to connect this new space to the main hospital building.

Client: NHS Hospital Trust

Main Contractor: Portakabin

Architect: Llewelyn Davies

Product: Polycarbonate

Material: Steel frame with polycarbonate cladding

Brief

With the new decontamination room came a lot of heavy plant. The client wanted this hidden from the public and asked ARC to design and install a translucent polycarbonate screen. This would hide the plant and prevent interference from the public, keeping the equipment and individuals safe.

Outcome

A clean safety screen has been installed. The customer is satisfied and it ticks all the boxes of the original brief!
