Our Lady’s Roman Catholic School in Manchester required some construction and renovation over the summer holidays, ready to welcome students back in September.
Client: Our Lady’s R.C. High school
Main Contractor: CPA Bespoke Joinery
Architect: Curve Line Design
Product: Tensile fabric walkway and individual tree canopies
Material: Mild steel with painted finish and PVC fabric membrane
Brief
ARC structures created and installed a walkway structure, making an impact on the visual aesthetic of the new external communal area of the school. The structure will also help to keep students dry when moving around the campus in winter months!
Additionally, we provided 5 tree structures above a seating area, to create shade and protect from adverse weather when the students are outside.
Both structures needed to fit into the modern and clean architecture of surrounding buildings.
Outcome
The project came with a tight timescale, with completion required before the new term started, giving us just 6 weeks to fabricate and install on site.
The outcome is a success, delivering a complete project, on time and on budget. The client is pleased with the result, and the students have already made use of their new sheltered spaces as the autumn months draw in.
