Brief
ARC Structures installed Tensile Facades around the exclusive accommodation, hosted by Silverstone Escapades. Whether you’re looking to stay a little longer after your time on the track, make a weekend of it during Silverstone’s race events, book a family getaway, or hold a corporate gathering, this accommodation is a great option.
We were asked to bring the architects’ vision into reality by producing a steel frame clad in a mesh fabric, creating some shade and privacy for balconies on the other units, and to construct a focal point to the already beautiful architectural buildings.
The addition of LED lighting accentuates the shapes of the structures at night and can be seen from across the track. Tensile Facades allow opportunities to create shade and reduce the sun’s glare while allowing plentiful daylight in, so motorsport fans can enjoy the view whatever the weather. They’re cleverly manufactured with lightweight fabric, allowing us to cover longer distances without the need for much structural steel support. This provides a clean and modern look as well as a cost-effective solution.
