The Brief
ARC Structures was commissioned to support Beyond the Box in delivering The Space Between – a dance floor installation inspired by Emma Warren’s Dance Your Way Home, created as part of the Southbank Centre’s music-filled summer programme.
Working in collaboration with artist Qudus St. Patrick (QSP Studio), Beyond the Box imagined an interactive canopy installation situated between the River Thames and the Southbank Centre. Their concept featured a suspended array of 380 coloured polycarbonate hexagons, celebrating dance floors in all their forms – from nightclubs and Irish halls to street parties and beyond.
ARC Structures was engaged to take this vision forward and translate it into a buildable, cost-effective, and durable installation.

“Working with Andy and the team at ARC Structures on our Southbank Centre installation with artist Qudus St Patrick was a smooth and highly professional experience. They were responsive, diligent, and quick to act, and the end result was fantastic. ARC are certainly industry leaders in tension-style fabric structures, and I would highly recommend”
