SCHOOL CANOPY, VALLEY ROAD PRIMARY
While carrying out re-roofing works to Valley Road Primary school in Henley-on-Thames, M & J Construction brought it to the school’s attention that the polycarbonate canopy in the school playground was nearing the end of its life span.
BRIEF
ARC was approached with the task of breathing new life into the tired, degrading school canopy that was desperately in need of repair and refurbishment.
The works had to be carried out within an incredibly fast turnaround time within the summer break, so it was all hands-on deck to get this one done!
Outcome
After surveying the 7m x 7m structure, we recommended full refurbishment of the steel frame and a replacement polycarbonate canopy. The ARC installation team dismantled the steelwork and sent it off to be stripped back and powder coated in colour match to the existing. Once delivered back to site, the structure was reinstalled along with a new 16m polycarbonate sheet canopy and glazing bar system.
The job was completed on time and on budget, with our install team performing the strip out and install of the brand-new canopy in just four days. The result is a playground canopy that is once again the pride of the school and its pupils.
The client was delighted to see their canopy with a new lease of life rebuilt with such cost efficiency. As long as the structure is properly maintained, the refurbished canopy it should last the school for another 15 years.
