Many people will tell you that in their jobs, no two days are the same. Mine is very much one of those where I often have the unenvious position of getting involved in resolving problems from a point of zero knowledge. The latest of those was working out how to repair a tensile fabric roof at the Metrolink Etihad stop. It had been damaged for a number of months and this was exacerbated by Storm Bert and Storm Darragh towards the end of 2024. We had a number of retained contractors take a look and unfortunately none of them had the skills or expertise to assist us. Our client was rightly putting some pressure on us to get this resolved so I had to get to work. After some focussed searching I eventually came across ARC Structures Ltd and got in contact with Andy Chiverton. Immediately I knew I was in the hands of the right sort of subject matter expert and we made the decision to work with them on getting the canopy repair completed. The work was finalised this week and we couldn’t be happier with the result. In addition we now have a partner added to our supplier base who we trust to deliver this specialist work to the highest standard in the future.
